IIM Kozhikode began its academic journey in 1997 with its flagship two-year Postgraduate Program (PGP), leading to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Today, the Institute is on a high growth trajectory and offers one of the broadest academic programs in management education. These include a Doctorate of Business Administration (PhD), an Executive MBA program, a Management and Faculty Development program, and a unique PhD (Practice Track) for working professionals. In 2019, the institute introduced programs such as a two-year MBA in Finance, an MBA in Liberal Studies and Management, and an innovative one-year MBA in Business Leadership. In 2025, he further expanded his portfolio with a one-year Bachelor of Business Administration and a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration.
IIM Kozhikode has articulated a bold institutional vision, 'Vision 2047: Globalization of Indian Thought', which is in line with 100 years of India's independence and 50 years of IIMK's own journey. Based on the principles of Satyam (authenticity), Nityam (sustainability) and Purnam (fulfillment), the Institute aims to develop responsible, values-based leaders, thinkers and educators who will contribute to building a better and more sustainable world. IIMK is home to pioneering initiatives such as IIMK LIVE, a first-of-its-kind startup incubation program, the Indian Business Museum, and six Centers of Excellence across diverse disciplines. The institute also has a satellite campus in Kochi, which primarily caters to executive education.
IIMK is globally accredited by EQUIS (EFMD) and AMBA (UK) and is a member of AACSB. Rank 3rd In India, we follow the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2025 management category. In the 2025 Financial Times (FT) rankings, IIMK's MBA is ranked 69th in the world and its open enrollment program is ranked 76th in the world. In the QS World University Rankings 2025, IIMK ranks in the 141+ band for Business and Management. The company's MBA program is ranked at least 151st globally, and its Executive MBA is ranked at least 161st globally.
