Google Search instability, AI mode taking over search, Search Console AI configurator, 22nd anniversary

AI Video & Visuals

This week, of course, we covered the ongoing changes in Google search rankings. Google is now blending AI mode directly into AI Overview. Google has added a new upload feature to the search bar on its homepage to go into AI mode. Google Discover and mobile apps will also move from web pages to AI mode. Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro are now available in AI mode in more countries. Google AI mode is testing hover styles inline. Google Search Console Performance Reports tests AI-powered configuration tools for creating reports. Google Search Console now also adds the current date to its annotations feature. Google API documentation suggests that service area is not a ranking factor. Google added and then removed the LLMs.txt file to its search developer documentation. Important Google Webmaster Report for December 2025 posted. Google Ads Channel Reports with search partner data from PMax are being rolled out in some areas. Google Ads may bring back website optimizer. Microsoft Advertising now has asset-level disapprovals and faster conversion reporting. And I’ve been covering the search industry for 22 years. I’m already old. That was the search news at this week’s Search Engine Roundtable.
