Bloomberg Media COO Julia Beiser joins Microsoft to lead AI news products

Julia Beiser, chief operating officer of Bloomberg Media, is leaving the company after eight years to join Microsoft. Baser will lead Microsoft’s AI news product and report to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleiman, according to a person with direct knowledge of the move.

Beiser confirmed to ADWEEK that he will be leaving Bloomberg Media this month, but declined to comment on his new appointment. Microsoft did not respond to requests for comment.

“I’m currently coming off an amazing eight years at Bloomberg,” said Beiser.

Beizer joined Bloomberg Media in 2018 as chief product officer and later became chief digital officer. She has served as Chief Operating Officer since July 2024.

In a statement, Karen Salzer, CEO of Bloomberg Media, praised Vaser for growing the company’s subscription business, which has more than 700,000 subscribers.

“I am deeply grateful to Julia for the role she played during her seven years at Bloomberg Media in growing our business, which now has more than 700,000 paid subscribers,” Salzer said in a statement. “Based on this, our team is well-positioned to achieve even more viewership and revenue milestones in the coming years. We wish her every success in the future.”
