AI Video & Visuals

An artificial intelligence-generated video has been published online pretending to be real, purporting to show two Indian soldiers screaming for help from the Indian government from a battlefield. Soldiers could be heard labeling Pakistani troops dangerous as they begged to be relieved of duty.

BOOM discovered that the video shows no actual visuals at all. We ran this viral video through multiple AI content detection tools to confirm that it was generated by AI.

what we found

Viral videos are generated by AI: We have performed multiple searches and have not found any reliable sources indicating that the viral footage is an actual incident. If you look closely at the soldiers, you can see that their eye movements are unnatural. Inspired, we ran two visuals of the soldier separately through multiple AI detection tools, including Hive Moderation and Hiya.

First visual

The AI content detection tool Hive Moderation concluded that the probability of AI manipulation in the video was 82.1%. Next, we extracted the audio from the video and tested it with the Hiya Deepfake Voice detection tool. Hiya claimed that the audio was fake, with an authenticity score of only 1 out of 100. See results below.

second visual

We then tested the remaining segments of the viral video with Hive Moderation’s AI detection tool, which confirmed that the video was manipulated using AI. We also ran the audio extracted from the second clip through Hiya’s deepfake audio detector and found it to be fake. Hiya’s results showed a reliability score of 1 out of 100. See results below.
