Earlier this week, an AI-generated video was released showing WWE star AJ Lee interacting with fans at a tournament. Lee drew attention to the video and slammed his fans, calling it “inappropriate” and “harassment,” but fans refused to delete it. The tournament where the actual handshake event was held has released a comment.
Big Event Entertainment & Sports Expo issued a statement regarding the video, which uses AI to show a kissing scene between Lee and a fan, banning the fan from future shows and warning others using AI to mislead that this interaction will also result in an immediate ban.
As most of you have probably seen, tentpole events have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past 48 hours. This is not a discussion about positive or negative uses of AI, but if you use AI or any other type of manipulation to misrepresent your experience at a show and portray your guests or fans in a negative or compromising manner, you will be banned from all future events. One strike, no appeal.
We want everyone who comes to have a memorable experience, a truly memorable experience, and not create false narratives that will ruin future opportunities and moments for our fans. When celebrities and talents take time outside of their schedules, it’s because they’re grateful to their fans who make this possible. Please respect the talent not only on the show but also off the show.
