Openai has officially announced the SORA 2, the latest text-to-video text and audio AI generator.
So far, I'm not very sure about our marketing efforts. The unstable promotional clip, an algorithmically synthesized version of Openai CEO Sam Altman, announces the company's response to the Meta Vibes app.
problem? Altman, generated by AI, suffers from chronic problems that plague the footage generated by AI. It looks unconvincing and unrealistic.
“For a year, we've redefine what's possible with moving images,” the fake Altman says in a clearly robotic, AI-generated voice, referring to the company's former Sora video generator released in December 2024.
“Today we are launching the Sora app,” he added.
It has a confusing look and just worse than cleaning up a creepy valley.
The rest of the promotional video is a parade that covers the minds of AI-generated clips, from jockeys riding unicorns to altman lit up by the stadium, which appears to be a sporting event involving humans riding oversized ducks.
Social media users were surprised by Slop Fest and did not suppress their feedback.
“This feels uncomfortable to watch,” exclaimed one X-Formerly-Twitter user.
“Fresh f**king Is hell this tard pile? ” added James Rogers, director of cinematography. Anxiety, empty, soulless filth. ”
“Prompts are not creativity,” tweeted one user. “It's never going to happen.”
Openai has a big bet on video generators, claiming that Sora 2's “Advanced World Simulation Features” is “crucial for training AI models that deepen the understanding of the physical world.”
In one demonstration, the company showed that Sora 2 easily rendered a video of the exercise. This led the previous model to a hilarious “Turing Test for AI Video” by turning the athlete into a grotesque and fiery ball.
Certainly, but As improvements have been made across last year's AI video generator, countless users are already balking Openai's efforts to force the public to even more AI-generated slops by packaging them into smartphone apps.
“We create levels of slops that we could only imagine before,” joked one X user.
Openai's originality also leaves something that is desired. The news comes almost a week after Meta, a very similar tictok-like video feed from AI Slop, unveiled the Vieve. Netizens were not impressed by the efforts. Calling “hot trash” and “endless slop machine,” he questioned anyone who wants to swipe through fake videos of snowboarders jumping over a news anchor with rubber ducks and cat heads.
“Good news, everything, Mark Zuckerberg's new idea that we're forcing everyone is finally here.” Daily ShowMichael Costa said with a scathing satire of the atmosphere.
“Our AI video tools are set up to completely revolutionize how stupid losers create stupid losers,” Costa added. “And we're very excited about it.”
In short, both Openai and Meta are certainly cutting their work to convince users that an app dedicated to AI slops would meaningfully justify the tens of millions of dollars that are being put into technology.
“Eat your slops, piggy,” Costa said with a chuckle. “Eat from the palm of your hand.”
