Amritsar: Seriously paying attention to the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) to create fake videos related to the Golden Temple, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has condemned the law and calls it a blatant attack on Sikh sentiment. The Sikh Prime Minister also urged the government to immediately ban such activities. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that videos created using AI technology not only violate the core principles of Sikhism, but also hurt religious sentiments.“Sri Dhabah Sahib (Golden Temple) is the spiritual center of the Sikh community and a place where universal message of brotherhood and peace spreads across all of humanity. However, the irresponsible use of technology by certain people is deeply hurt by the feelings of Sikh Sangatt,” Dami said.Expressing serious concern over the increased misuse of AI, Dhami stressed that it is the responsibility of cybercrime cells to take concrete steps to curb such incidents. He said SGPC previously flagged misleading content about Gurbani, Sikh's history and Gurmat's circulation on AI platforms.SGPC will soon be holding meetings with experts and related organizations working in the field to choke out strategies to combat such threats, he added.Dhami also appealed to the Indian government to address the issue at a severity worthy of the issue, and urged it to take immediate and effective measures by developing concrete policies to prevent the misuse of AI technology.MSID :: 124070868 413 |
