Sunhat has raised $10.8 million in a Series A funding round led by Commerzventures, providing ongoing support from Capnamic, ENBW New Ventures, Xdeck and WEPA Ventures.

The funding builds on the mission of strengthening Sunhat's position as a category definition platform in AI-Native compliance and ESG data verification and facing key “proof gaps” companies in meeting the expansion demands from customers, regulators, investors and lenders. Since its launch in 2022, Sunhat has raised a total of $16.6 million, and today it supports thousands of users from over 20 countries.

Companies generate vast amounts of compliance and ESG-related data, but often struggle to provide real-time evidence that can address verifiable stakeholders. The survey emphasizes that employees search documents 360 hours each year, with fragmented systems slowing their ability to meet increasingly complex global standards. Sunhat addresses this challenge by enabling businesses to translate raw ESG, audit and compliance records into instantly verified responses. In doing so, it will help businesses not only fulfill their disclosure obligations, but also unlock commercial advantages in contract, financing and supply chain negotiations.

“Companies don't have sustainability issues. They have evidence issues,” he said. Lukas Vogt, CEO and co-founder of Sunhat. “Companies are meeting standards and achieving their goals, but quickly and consistently proven that creates friction.

At the heart of the platform is AI proof, Sunhat's proprietary intelligence engine, trained in thousands of audits, disclosures and evaluations. Automatically map enterprise data to globally recognized standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, and disclosure frameworks, including CDP and CSRD. Sunhat seamlessly integrates with enterprise systems, from SharePoint to professional ESG, EHS, and quality control platforms by certifying AI agents. Agents actively capture new information, check its validity, and generate audit-enabled responses in minutes rather than weeks.

“Too many companies lose their trade just because they can't move fast enough,” he said. Paul Morgenthaler, Managing Partner at Commerzventures. “We supported Sunhat because it turned that challenge into a competitive advantage. Proof AI provides the right data at the right time, ensuring that businesses can respond instantly and confidently.”
