The Guangzhou-based company, one of mainland China's top three Robotaxi operators, said on Saturday it will work with Singapore's taxi fleet operator Comfortdelgro to introduce autonomous mobility services to the city “in the coming months.”
“By providing safe, comfortable and efficient autonomous exercise services, we are committed to strengthening and moving forward the daily commutes of local residents. [Singapore’s] James Peng, Founder and CEO of Pony.ai, said in a statement. “We believe there is great potential in our local markets and the broader Southeast Asian market.”
The first Robotaxis will be deployed on a fixed road in Punggol residential area, a newly developed area on the northeast corner of Singapore.

Singapore Services is the second overseas expansion by Pony.AI two weeks after a Chinese company partnered with Qatar Transportation Company Mowasalat (KARWA) to bring self-driving cars to national highways in the Middle East. Pony.ai is testing vehicles in Dubai, South Korea and Luxembourg.
The company's plans are next in Hong Kong. Pony is set to launch its Robotaxi service after clearing regulatory hurdles, the company's chief financial officer, Leo Wang, said at a media event last month.
