Skeptics wonder whether “Diera,” portrayed as a woman in traditional folk costume, is “corrupted.”

Albanian Prime Minister Eddie Rama has placed an “municipal” generated by artificial intelligence, responsible for tackling corruption in his new cabinet.
Diera, meaning “the sun” for the Albanian, was appointed on Thursday, and the leader will introduce her as a “member of a cabinet that is not physically present,” ensuring that “public bids are corrupt-free.”

The awarding of the bid was the source of corruption for 2.8 million Balkan countries aiming to participate in the European Union.
Corruption is an important factor in Albanian bids to join the bloc.
Rama's Socialist Party, which secured a fourth term in office, said negotiations would be over by 2027 and could offer EU membership in five years.
The lawmaker will soon vote for Lama's new cabinet, but it was unclear whether he would vote for Diera's virtual post.
Legal experts say more work may be needed to establish Diera's official status as depicted on screen as a woman in traditional Albanian folk costumes.
Gazmendo Bardi, the Democratic Congressional Group leader, said he thought Diera's ministerial status was unconstitutional.
“[The] The Prime Minister's Clown cannot be transformed into a legal act in Albania,” Bardhi posted on Facebook.
The Prime Minister did not provide details on whether there is human surveillance against Diera or what kind of human surveillance will be available to address the risk that someone can manipulate an artificial intelligence bot.
Diella was launched earlier this year as a virtual assistant to the e-Albania Public Service Platform, helping users navigate the site and have access to around a million digital documents.
So far, she has published 36,600 digital documents and has provided roughly 1,000 services through the platform.
Not everyone is sure.
“Even Diera will be damaged in Albania,” one Facebook user said.
Another said, “The steal will continue and Diera will be criticized.”
