The AI-generated video depicts what unfolds if Mount Fuji, Japan's most iconic volcano, can erupt without warning.
The cold clip shows the sky above Tokyo, darkened with thick ashes and smog, while famous districts like Shibuya have disappeared beneath a layer of volcanic fallout. Officials warn that such events not only pose immediate health risks, they could have long-term impacts on future generations.
According to scientists, considering the volcano is only 100 kilometers from the capital, it is possible that the ashes clouds on Mt. Fuji could arrive within 1-2 hours of the eruption. Estimates suggest that ash deposits within the city may range from 2 to 10 cm thick.
The first casualties of such a disaster are Tokyo's transportation infrastructure. The train stops when it is coated with ash, but the airport was forced to shut down as the runway became unsafe due to takeoff and landing.
