ROC's multimodal video analytics platform, Roc Watch, has been awarded the “Secure Host” certification by the Indian Standardized Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Bureau (STQC) Bureau, part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY).
The STQC certification ensures that ROC Watch meets India's best benchmarks for cybersecurity and web application protection, clearing usage in national digital identity, public safety and digital governance across the subcontinent.
“Security and trust are embedded in everything we ship,” said Nick Bartlow, Roc's chief engineer. “STQC certification is evidence of rigorous testing and commitment to compliance with the highest international standards.”
The ROC Watch is designed to work with any camera system, and according to a US company, it adds a security layer that allows for real-time intelligence, early threat detection and “quickly response” in one glass pane.
ROC watches that need to achieve a “secure host” status are required to receive a comprehensive security audit in line with global norms, such as the OWASP Top 10 and the OWASP Web Security Test Guide. This assessment focuses on broken authentication conditions from injection attacks, sensitive data exposure, and high-risk vulnerabilities that ensure that the platform adheres to modern cybersecurity best practices.
By ensuring STQC approval, the ROC Watch will become one of the first US-made vision AI solutions validated for India's strict government security requirements. The company says the milestone is positioned as a viable alternative to legacy providers of institutions building or upgrading critical digital infrastructure.
Recently, ROC announced that multimodal ROC ABIS and ROC SDK products have completed a compliance assessment with MOSIP, a modular open source identity platform, and have been added to the National Digital ID Technologies market.
