Do you remember making them? Adobe has launched a new take, AI video style. Adobe shared an unfinished AI-powered film created by director Sam Finn.
Unfinished movie It's the beginning of a never-ending movie. Instead, Adobe invites creators to put their own take on the film, create endings or remixes, and reconstruct what the original director started. Adobe invites creators to download the original file and create their own version of the story using Firefly.
The unfinished aspect of the film is not the only way Adobe shows what AI can do here. The first film is full of scientifically impossible scenes that require special effects teams (and possibly Hollywood-level budgets). The film mixes a variety of styles of flash, from animation to black and white sketches.
Adobe shows how Firefly allows creators to shift stories using community storytelling projects. “We spent time with editors, filmmakers and the creative team that made it clear. They don't want automation, they don't want amplification. It's a tool that stimulates new ideas, speeds up workflows, and maintains creative control.”
While Adobe wanted the public to finish off the film, the company also reached out to four creators, sharing four different takes on the film's remix as inspiration. This variation was created by creative director Simen Cohen (@thePacman82).
The film's remix was created by filmmaker and content creator Keenan Lamb (@keenanlam).
Adobe Firefly is a free software to download. However, Generation AI requires generating credits to be used. Adobe's free Firefly app contains enough complementary credits to generate two videos and 40 seconds of audio, but large projects require a subscription that includes generated credits.
Firefly is based on Adobe's proprietary AI database built using licensed content. Adobe says it makes Firefly commercially safe. The Firefly app also allows users to choose from third-party models, including Google Veo3 and Imagen3. All Firefly AI-generated content uses content credentials using AI labels.
Adobe Firefly is available for download in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, as well as online. Files Unfinished movie Remixes from Adobe are available.
