Openai has announced a next-generation audio and video generator called the Sora 2, but also bullied new social platforms that could rival Tiktok.

On Tuesday, the company showed off its AI-powered video production technology.
Users can shoot themselves with audio in the SORA app and create their own deepfakes, allowing them to achieve almost any scenario with a simple prompt.
For example, in one demo video, an ice skater glides over the ice before playing a triple axel.
Another was shown a realistic looking guy returning to a paddleboard with a splash.
“Previous video models are overly best. They morph objects and transform reality to perform text prompts well,” Openai wrote in a blog post.
The original SORA tool was released last year, but the latest version is better at generating more complex movements, the company said.
The new SORA app is intended to serve as a social platform for AI-generated videos.
The app allows users to view and edit video clips generated by AI and introduce friends who are also registered with the app.
However, Openai said robust protection and identity protection measures are in place to prevent someone's identity from being inserted into AI videos without consent.
“Protecting the happiness of teens”
The app has a similar feeling to Tiktok in that it has a vertical video feed with swipe-to-scroll navigation.
However, Openai said the app prioritizes discovering videos that could stimulate creativity rather than focusing on maximizing time scrolling.
“We provide users with tools and options that allow them to control what they see in their feed,” the company said.
“We have developed a new class of recommended algorithms that can be directed through natural language using OpenAI's existing large-scale language model,” he added.
The company also said it is important for the company to protect “teen happiness,” so there is a default limit on the number of generations teens can see on feed per day.
He also said “the group has more strict permission to comeos,” and Openai added a human moderator “to quickly confirm bullying cases.”
Sora is only an invitation for now and will be the first to be available on iOS in the US and Canada.
