In 2023, for example, the cave described the AI as a “new fear,” but he insisted he wasn't too worried about it. But now, Cave changes the song of Generated AI, shares a video generated in the new AI of the 1985 badseed classic “Tupelo,” writing about how he changed his thoughts on the issue.

The Cave said he was skeptical of Dominic's use of AI and returned to older writings on the subject, but Dominic said, “Yes, pause your fucking prejudice and take a look!” Caved did, and he liked what he saw. Here's how he explains the reaction he and his wife had:

To our surprise, we found it to be a very profound interpretation of the song. This turns out to be a moving tribute to the mythologically rich “Tupelo” soulful, moving and completely original narration, the great Elvis Presley, and the song itself. The AI-animated photos of Elvis had a mysterious quality, as if he had grown up from death, and the image of the last revival of the cross was shocking and deeply influential. Susie and I were blown away. When I saw Andrew's surreal little film, I felt soft on the way AI is seen as an artistic device. To some extent, my mind has changed. “It's just a tool like everyone else,” Andrew said.
