Google deploys a free AI tool to turn photos into video clips: how it works – Technology News

AI Video & Visuals

Google is introducing new photo-to-video tools that allow users to turn images into short video clips using the Advanced Veo 2 model. Similar to features found in apps such as Gemini and YouTube, this function allows users to convert selected photos into videos by applying creative prompts such as “subtle moves” or “I'm lucky.”

Convert photos to mini movies with new photo to video features.

Google's latest tools automatically sew picks together from your photo library for a bite-sized 6-second movie with complete transitions and soundtracks, no need for it. This extends the Generic Magic introduced by Google on Gemini in July, and animates it into a quick clip that matches today's memory sharing habits, thanks to the Veo 2 model, as the same technology has landed on Google Photos and YouTube shorts.

“From today, we've brought similar photo-to-video features (with VEO 2) to Google Photos, making it easier to create fun, short videos from photos already stored in the gallery.

Google Photos also has a new remix feature launched.

In addition to this, Google Photos also launches a new remix feature with Imagen AI Engine. This tool allows users to instantly restor any image from the gallery, providing quick and creative transformation.

The Remix option will be available to Android and iOS users in the coming weeks. To promote responsible AI use, all modified content will be tagged with a SynthID digital watermark.

“Choose photos from the gallery, choose your favorite style, and easily convert gallery photos into these types of images and share them with friends and family,” Google said in the post. This feature is limited to US photos and will appear on Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks.
