Google is expanding access to VEO 3, a powerful AI video generation tool, for Indian users. This AI video model allows you to create high-resolution videos from user-provided text or image prompts. VEO 3 is deployed through Google AI Pro subscription to the Gemini app under the AI Pro Subscription Tier. The price of the PRO subscription is Rs 1,999 per month. Google also offers a free one-month trial for users to explore the benefits of Gemini Pro.
“We look forward to sharing that our latest AI video generation model, Veo 3, is being deployed in India via the Google AI Pro subscription for the Gemini app,” Google India said in a statement. The AI model was first introduced in Google I/O 2025. Since its launch, many users have been flooded with social media with AI-generated videos ranging from historical iterations to surreal creative experiments, which has attracted a lot of buzz.
What is VEO 3?
According to Google, VEO 3 is the most advanced generative model designed to generate short, high quality clips from simple text or image prompts. VEO 3 allows users to create 8-second video clips at 720p resolution based on written or image-based prompts. What sets the VEO 3 apart is that it not only creates visuals, but also incorporates background music, sound effects and even synthesized speech, allowing for richer and immersive storytelling.
Google originally launched only models for users with its AI Ultra plan, which costs $249.99 per month. However, later introduced a scaling version called Veo 3 Fast in June. This is included in the more affordable AI Protia, available in India for Rs 1,999 per month. According to Google, this version is optimized for faster generation speeds, with backend upgrades producing results up to twice as fast.
How to use in India
To use VEO 3, users must download the Gemini app on Android or iOS and subscribe to the AI Pro plan. Subscribe allows users to generate up to 3 VEO 3 fast videos per day. After reaching this limit, the app will automatically switch users to VEO 2. This is a previous version with fewer features. However, Google has also introduced several updates to the VEO 2 model.
Similar to using the Gemini chatbot, when generating videos in VEO 3, users will need to enter prompts such as descriptions and images. After the prompt is entered, the AI will quickly generate a complete video clip with audio and visual effects.
Safety and Usage Restrictions
In particular, Google has implemented restrictions to protect user privacy and safety and to prevent potential misuse of AI video generators. All videos created with VEO 3 contain visible, invisible watermarks, indicating that AI is being generated.
Invisible Waters uses SynthID, a technology developed by Google to track AI-generated content. The company also implements usage policy and moderation tools to monitor the type of content generated.
