An Instagram user posted a video on July 1, 2025, claiming it was from Agra, saying, “A major incident occurred at Agra airport. It is said that a fire broke out due to a spark while landing.”
The contents of the virus post are written as is. Many users share it from their accounts and believe it is true. The archive version of the post can be found here.
investigation
Vishvas News first used the Google Open Search Tool to investigate the virus videos. When searching for related keywords, no reliable news was found to confirm the claim. If the plane crashed anywhere in Agra, it would have made news. No news was found during the investigation.
I proceeded with the investigation, scanned the virus video and noticed what the word “extreme drive” said. Based on this, I started searching on Instagram for a handle named “Extreme Drive.” It turns out that the virus video was uploaded here on May 1st. Many users called it an AI-generated video in comments.
During my research, I found this video on several platforms. This video has become a virus on Instagram and YouTube and is circulating with different claims on different dates.
We contacted our partner Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU) to check for virus videos from Agra Airport. The DAU team analyzed this video using several tools to see how it could be created by AI. According to an expert at DAU, “Two things become clear after carefully watching the video. The logo of a suspected tail plane doesn't resemble a known passenger plane. The vague use of words instead of the logo is a drawback to the generated video. Similarly, the plane's windows were shaking unnaturally.
The AI detection tool WASITAI has shown that this video is “AI Generation”.
Vishvas News facilitated the investigation and contacted Pratik Kumar, a senior journalist at Dainik Jagran, Agra. I shared a virus post with him. He confirmed it was a fake and said that such an accident would not occur in Agra.
At the end of the investigation, the user behind the fake post was identified. The Instagram handle, created in 2020, has over 800 followers.
