Public preview access with vertex AI

AI Video & Visuals

Google had some exciting AI announcements at I/O 2025. This includes new Project Astra features available in Gemini Live in the near future, a new AI mode for Google search that will change how you shop, and a hardware demo for the first AR/AI smart glasses to ship to consumers later this year. However, there is no denying that VEO 3 (along with Flow) is one of the most exciting things Google has announced this year.

VEO 3 is Google's next-generation AI video generation software, a massive upgrade to its predecessor. VEO 3 can create AI-generated film noise, sound, and even dialogue. All you need to do is enter a text prompt with all the details and VEO 3 will produce the desired result.

VEO 3 allows you to sync your audio language to a clip and keep characters from one scene to the next. Veo 3 went viral online after 2025 and saw some great videos and a short film made with it. The actual films that play in the theatre also incorporate shots made with Veo 3.

The biggest problem with VEO 3 is that it costs money to access. To get the most out of VEO 3, you'll need a Google AI Ultra subscription that costs $249.99 per month. You can also access VEO 3 from a variety of third-party services, including Adobe's Firefly, Freepik, and LTX Studio. However, to use VEO 3 you will need to pay a subscription fee.

A more cost-effective alternative coming June 27th is to access Google's all-in-one AI cloud tool Vertex AI and use VEO 3 in a public preview. This allows you to try out VEO 3 before determining whether this AI video generator is necessary for personal use or work.

In a blog post, Google said that all Google Cloud customers and partners can access VEO 3 in a public preview of Vertex AI. According to the company, VEO 3 brings these three features to Vertex AI video generation.

Fluid and natural video that synchronizes video with audio and dialogue. Veo Renato allows you to synchronize audio and visuals in one pass. This model produces a rich soundscape that includes everything from dialogue to ambient noise, sound effects and background music.

Movie video capturing creative nuances. VEO 3 makes high-resolution videos that allow you to easily capture creative nuances and detailed scene interactions at your prompts, from the shades of the sky to the exact way the sun hits the water in the afternoon light.

Realistic movements that simulate real-world physics. To create a scene that is trustworthy, VEO 3 simulates real physics. This brings realistic water movements, accurate shadows related to objects and characters, and natural human movements.

Google has also posted several VEO 3 samples, including the short clips that first showed in I/O 2025.

Google has shared additional VEO 3 clips created through third-party tools such as Freepik and LTX Studio, and, along with comments from these companies, is working with Google Cloud to create AI videos for a variety of purposes.

Here's a sample created via the Freepik AI video generator:

Finally, the following clip is a new brand created with Gemini, Imagen, and Veo 3.
