Islamabad: The Union Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal formed the 15-member National Task Force (NTF) on Artificial Intelligence (IA) for National Development of the Country.

Officials said the task force’s main objective is to create a 10-year roadmap for accelerating the adoption of AI in the business, development, governance, education and healthcare sectors. The NTF force is made up of artificial intelligence experts and government and private sector representatives.

According to details, the formation of the National Task Force (NTF) on Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan is an important step in harnessing the potential of this technology for the development of the country. Led by the Federal Minister for Program Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, his 15-member task force has his 10-member task force to accelerate the adoption of AI in various sectors, including business, development, governance, education and healthcare. We aim to create an annual roadmap.

The NTF includes not only artificial intelligence experts, but also government and private sector representatives. This collaborative approach will make the benefits of AI accessible to all segments of society while facilitating a unified effort to harness its power.

In 2018, the PML-N government established the National Center for Artificial Intelligence. This was an important step towards promoting the adoption of this technology in the country.

The Minister emphasized the important role of AI in driving Pakistan’s economic growth and development. By integrating AI into governance, healthcare, and education systems, nations can revolutionize these sectors and make significant progress. AI has the potential to improve decision-making processes, provide personalized healthcare, enhance learning experiences, and deliver previously unattainable solutions.
