95% of Indonesian business leaders use AI agents to support their teams

Jakarta – Microsoft has released the Work Trend Index 2025 report highlighting how AI (AI) changes the business environment and how people work in Indonesia.

The report reveals that 97% of Indonesian business leaders consider 2025 to be essentially a key moment for considering business strategy and operations.

Around 63% of business leaders say they should improve productivity, while 88% of both employees and business leaders' workforce admit that they lack the time or energy to complete the job.

To overcome this, 95% of business leaders expressed confidence in using AI agents as members of their support digital teams over the next year or two.

In fact, half or about 52% or more, making the ability of a team with digital workers a top priority, then building up their capabilities.

Over the next five years, business leaders hope that their teams will perform new tasks. 48% AI will redesign the work process, 63% will plan to build a multi-agent system, 69% will focus on training, and 58% will directly manage AI agents.

In addition to changing team mechanisms, 65% of Indonesian managers estimate that AI training and upskills will play a key role for future teams.

However, 87% of leaders already understand the concept of AI agents, while only 56% of employees with the same level of understanding do so, but there is still a gap in understanding.

“The gap between leaders and employees in understanding AI is not just numbers,” Microsoft Indonesia president Dharma Simorankir said in a statement.

Filling this gap is crucial to ensure comprehensive and long-term recruitment of AI for employment by investing in HR.

“This is the time for us to invest in humans, develop new skills and build a work culture where everyone is ready to become boss agents,” Dharma added.
