In 2023, Large Language Models (LLMs) have transformed the landscape with an entirely new wave of generative AI. With a new ecosystem of technologies, tools, and vendors, even AI and machine learning veterans have a hard time understanding the possibilities and finding the right resources.
While the community continues to experiment and explore LLMs, here are six great courses to learn all about these language models.
Full Stack LLM Bootcamp
DeepLearning AI runs an LLM course personally endorsed by AI genius Andrej Karpathy. This two-day program is based on current best practices and research findings to help generative AI developers confidently move into building applications around language models.
The instructors delivered the program as an in-person bootcamp in San Francisco in April 2023. They are currently making the recorded lectures available for free. The goal of the course is to teach general Python coders how to build applications for the LLM. Instead of the old-fashioned way of building an app with a pre-trained model, you can get an API up and running in an hour.
Generative AI using large-scale language models
Our free course is like AI 101, covering the fundamentals and practical content to gain a deeper understanding of how generative AI models actually work. Instructors Antje Barth, Shelbee Eigenbrode, Mike Chambers, and Chris Fregly analyze the latest research and share how companies are actively building their LLMs.
This course, delivered by DeepLearning AI and AWS, has already had 166,689 enrollments.
Generative AI Basics
Databricks, a leader in the software industry, has been actively contributing to the field of language models over the past year. In addition to building and open-sourcing its own language models, the company has also started providing free, on-demand knowledge on the fundamentals of generative AI.
This is a four-part video session that takes an in-depth look at what's possible with large-scale language models. You'll also learn about the risks and challenges associated with this technology. This Databricks-style crash course is a great place to start learning about generative AI.
Hugging Face NLP Course
Most of the large-scale language models released in the past year are hosted on Hugging Face. Models from leading tech companies, such as Meta's LLaMA, are also available on the developer platform. The platform also hosts the Hugging Face course, which equips you with the right skills to understand the fundamental concepts of NLP and language models at the same time.
What's more, the course is like a clandestine stroll through the Hugging Face environment, a backstage pass to the generative AI party.
Introduction to large-scale language models
This course from Google Cloud is a quick introductory course that details what an LLM is, where it can be used, and how it can be improved with some quick tweaking. It also introduces you to some of the Google tools that can help you develop generative AI applications.
LLM University
Finally, Cohere's LLM University allows you to dive deep into NLP techniques. The platform covers everything from semantic search and generation to classification and embedding. It's a one-stop shop that combines theory and practical exercises to give you knowledge on a range of topics. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional, this platform can help you hone your LLM skills.
