In a post on his X account, Sheikh Hamdan said the appointments were “part of a future-oriented vision focused on leveraging AI in government work. The moves will support Dubai's journey and expertise and transform the outlook for developing innovative solutions based on advanced technologies.”
He added: “Accelerating AI, its tools and applications is a key pillar of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision. [Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai] Positioning Dubai as a global hub for the development and deployment of AI solutions.
Sheikh Hamdan concluded: “The appointment of a new Chief AI Officer at Dubai Government is a step in the process to realise our vision for the future of work in government, in line with the Dubai AI Universal Blueprint. [DUB.AI]We expect them to accelerate their work and redouble their efforts to turn our vision into a reality.”

DUB.AI aims to solidify the emirate's position as a global hub for AI governance and legislation, and to accelerate the adoption of AI across strategic sectors. Additionally, the initiative will strengthen Dubai's position in the Global AI Readiness Index, where it currently ranks in the top 10.
