As artificial intelligence projects and AI agents move from experimentation to production, solution providers are looking for the right vendors to take an AI-first approach to their customers and bring them into the new world of enterprise technology automation.
For the 2026 CRN AI 100, CRN named the 20 most innovative companies in AI software. These companies are in pole position to help MSPs and solution providers differentiate their AI practices, augment traditional IT work through more productive technicians, and complete projects faster.
This year’s list creators include established companies leveraging a wide range of distributions and ecosystems to enable enterprise AI, including ServiceNow, Intermedia, and Pega. And then there are the AI software startups looking to make a name for themselves further in AI’s fourth year, along with players like Thread, Rewst, and Hatz AI.

Many statistics point to rapid adoption of AI and AI agents by large enterprises and partner opportunities. Gartner said in a March report that by 2028, at least 80% of governments will deploy AI agents to automate routine decision-making and enhance efficiency and service delivery. Data fragmentation and legacy system migration remain common obstacles to unlocking AI, and these two projects are key for many solution providers.
Gartner said in a separate report in March that by 2028, more than 50% of enterprises will use an AI security platform to secure the use of third-party AI services and protect custom-built AI applications. And by 2028, 60% of brands will use agent AI to facilitate efficient one-on-one interactions, the research firm announced in January.
IDC said in a March report that by 2029, more than 1 billion AI agents could be actively deployed globally, performing approximately 217 billion actions per day, and that agent AI would account for 26 percent of global IT spending in the same year, or more than $1.3 trillion.
