AI Video & Visuals

Recently, a 19-minute private viral video featuring the couple went viral and created a buzz on social media. The 19-minute viral video is reportedly linked to an explicit video of the couple’s private moments, according to social media posts. Some online posts described the video as 19 minutes and 34 seconds of explicit footage shot in a hotel room, while others claimed the couple was seen in compromising positions and engaged in explicit conversations.

Some speculated that the video was a deepfake or altered using AI. None of these claims have been verified, and no news organization has authenticated the video.

Can sharing a 19-minute video land you in jail?

In India, it is a crime to even share or forward such videos. Under Section 67 of the IT Act, distributing obscene content online can attract up to three years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500,000. As this clip reports, if the content contains sexual acts, Section 67A comes into play, punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of Rs 10 million. Further, Sections 292, 293 and 354C of the IPC also prohibit the circulation of obscene content.

Searches for original clips continue to grow, with some claiming that adult content has resurfaced. Some claimed it looked like it was generated by an AI. Authorities have warned that even unintentional sharing of such material could lead to criminal charges. The rumored clip has reportedly spawned an underground market where users are offering between Rs 500 and Rs 5,000 to obtain it, despite strict laws governing the distribution of sexual content.

The latest controversy comes months after a massive deepfake scandal related to the Instagram account “Babydoll Archi.” The women featured in these viral reels had amassed more than 1.4 million followers before it was discovered that they were entirely AI-generated.

How did this 19-minute video gain traction online?

It is not yet clear who appears in the video or how it was released. The identity of the person in the circulating screenshot remains unknown, and it is unclear whether the footage was leaked, staged, or digitally altered. However, many users mistakenly thought the woman in the video was influencer Sweet Zanut. The Meghalaya-based influencer later issued a clarification, sharing the video on Instagram and clarifying that she was not the one who appeared in the viral video. “Look at me… Now look at her… Does she look like me in any way? She doesn’t! So why do people write ’19 minutes’ in my comments,” he says in the video, which also features snippets of the woman from the 19-minute video.

Multiple women on social media platforms have since issued statements denying any involvement and reporting that strangers have flooded their profiles with lewd comments.
