Veeam software Completed acquisition of Securiti AI for $1.725 billion; A leader in data security posture management (DSPM), privacy, governance, and AI trust. The move combines Veeam's global leadership in data resilience, with more than 550,000 customers and 82% of the Fortune 500, and Securiti AI's advanced data security and AI governance capabilities to create what the company says is the industry's first unified, trusted data platform. The platform aims to help businesses see, protect, manage, and recover all their data at the speed of AI.

Veeam CEO Anand Eswaran highlighted that while AI investments are rapidly increasing, nearly 90% of enterprises' AI efforts fail due to unreliable data. This acquisition addresses this challenge by combining Veeam's data resiliency expertise with Securiti AI's capabilities in DSPM, privacy, governance, and AI trust. The combined platform is designed to provide organizations with unified visibility across structured and unstructured data, strengthen ongoing governance and compliance, implement zero trust security, and ensure clean recovery of data, pipelines, and AI models.

The acquisition also strengthens Veeam's workforce, adding 600 Securiti AI employees to the company. Rehan Jalil, founder and CEO of Securiti AI, will become president of security and AI at Veeam. Both Eswaran and Jalil emphasized the strategic importance of the merger, noting that the unified platform will provide enterprises with a comprehensive command center to secure and manage their entire data estate, while enabling the secure deployment of AI at scale.

The timing of acquisitions is critical as unstructured data accounts for 90% of enterprise data and is expected to triple by 2029, making it a key driver of AI initiatives and risks. By delivering real-time visibility, security, governance, and recovery across all data environments, the integrated Veeam and Securiti AI platform enables organizations to innovate with confidence while protecting their most valuable asset: their data.

Key features of the platform include real-time data classification and lineage, integrated DSPM and threat detection, cleanroom-validated recovery, and managed data pipelines that support secure and compliant AI deployments. This strategic acquisition makes Veeam the first company to offer a comprehensive platform that integrates data resiliency, security, governance, privacy, and AI trust.
