Zoom Communications announced Zoom AI Companion 3.0, the next evolution of its agent-based AI solution with work surface technology that leverages business conversations to save time and increase productivity.
AI Companion has a clear purpose: to help people start their day with clarity and alignment, even when dealing with numerous post-meeting tasks and follow-ups. The system's features include a beta version of AI-first features for personal workflows, agent AI features for Zoom Docs, web interface It features expanded context to help users discover insights, optimize their day, and improve their work.
AI Companion 3.0 uses Zoom's federated AI approach, combining proprietary large and small language models (LLM/SLM) with third-party LLMs from OpenAI and Anthropic. Zoom users can also use open source models such as Nvidia Nemotron. This enables inference and search enhancement generation within Zoom's federated AI stack, creating a personalized work environment.
As AI Companion's capabilities expand into new areas, Zoom emphasized that it will encrypt customer data in transit and will not use customer content, such as communications, to train proprietary or third-party models.
By combining this federated approach with the power of AI Companion, Zoom Get higher quality results Through more accurate transcriptions, closed captions, and translated captions, users can get more relevant information and complete tasks.
AI Companion's new conversational worksurface is associated with work interactions and is thought to enable users to transform distributed meeting conversations and assets into insights, progress tracking, and polished documents and content without the need for users to upload meeting recordings, additional documents, or create detailed prompts.

AI Companion functionality is now accessible through your desktop web browser (ai.zoom.us). Some AI companion features are also available to Zoom Workplace Basic users. Customers can also purchase AI Companion as a standalone for $10 per month. This does not require a paid Zoom Workplace license.
