YouTube's new AI features now respond to your video queries: Learn more

Google has recently been testing a new feature on YouTube that will allow some U.S. YouTube Premium subscribers to use an AI assistant to interact with the videos they watch in real time.

According to reports indian expressthe new AI assistant is designed to answer questions and provide relevant information without interrupting your viewing experience.

It analyzes both video content and user queries to provide accurate responses on the spot.

However, this AI assistant feature is not currently available for all videos on YouTube.

Google is rolling out this feature in stages, and eligible videos will have a Ask button below the player controls.

Clicking this button allows users to type a question or select recommendations for summaries and related content from preconfigured prompts.

Meanwhile, users who wish to use the AI assistant must agree to Google's Generated AI Terms.

Despite this initial requirement, early tests show that the AI's responses are faster and more accurate, improving the overall viewing experience for users.

However, this experimental feature is currently only scheduled to be available until May 1st.

Google will assess user interest and gather feedback during this period to determine whether to permanently integrate this feature into the YouTube platform.

Additionally, Google is committed to transparency regarding its use of AI across its products and services.

YouTube creators are required to publish AI-generated content, and Google is introducing AI disclaimer labels for videos that cover sensitive topics like politics and health.
