The tool is powered by AI dubbing company Aloud, part of Google’s own Area 120 startup incubator.
Aloud first provides the creator with the transcription of the video. Aloud currently offers this service for free on its website, separate from the tools YouTube has built into its platform, but there is currently a waiting list.

The startup’s AI-powered tool currently only works with English-language videos, and can only dub his two languages, Spanish and Portuguese, at the moment. But with Google’s backing and a new partnership with YouTube, it shouldn’t be surprising that Aloud will roll out even more language options in the near future.
