Susea Inc., an artificial intelligence startup that operates as You.com, announced today that it has raised $150 million in funding at a $1.5 billion valuation.
Cox Enterprises led the Series C round. Several returning supporters have joined in, including Georgian, Norwest and Salesforce Venture. You.com co-founders Bryan McCann (left) and Richard Socher (right) took on senior research roles at Salesforce Inc. before launching the company in 2020.
The first product on You.com was a search engine for the consumer market. This service allowed users to scroll search results horizontally and not just vertically. The interface contained a dedicated section for finding open source code files.
Last September, You.com raised $50 million in funding and began to refocus on the enterprise market. Today, its product portfolio consists of a collection of application programming interfaces that companies can use to build AI applications. According to You.com, the API retrieves data faster and more accurately than Google LLC's search API for developers.
One you.com service, the Research API, has the ability to turn your applications data from the public web to reports. Depending on the user query, you can extract content from up to 30 sources. Customers can use the second You.com-supplied data API to enrich the information that AI applications use internal data to draw from the web.
For workloads that prioritize output generation speeds across response lengths, the company offers a service called Smart APIs. It can be useful for tasks such as enhancing the power of ecommerce chatbots. There is also a generic web and news search API that supports a wider range of data search use cases.
Companies with high requirements can hire You.com to build custom APIs and AI agents. The engineers are building agents for organizations with billions of users, according to the company.
You.com's software features large language models from OpenAI, human PBC and other AI providers. It also uses open source LLMS from the Llama series of Meta Platform. When the user enters the prompt, the company's platform automatically finds the best algorithm to generate the response.
“Today, we process 1 billion queries per month with APIs from companies such as Duckduckgo, Windsurf, Harvey and more. Blog post We are announcing a new funding round.
Bloomberg It has been reported You.com uses the capital to double its personnel to approximately 200 employees. The company will also open an office in San Francisco and build new products.
