Veteran author and lyricist Javed Akhtar on Friday (December 2, 2026) wrote a note on his social media saying that a viral video claiming to have “turned to God” was generated by artificial intelligence and that he is considering reporting those responsible.

In a note on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the lyricist claimed that such fake news is the cause of damage to his reputation and credibility.

“There's a fake video going around that shows a fake computer-generated photo of me with Topi on my head and says I turned to God in the end. It's bullshit,” he wrote.

“I am seriously considering reporting this to the cyber police and ultimately taking those responsible for this fake news and the few who forwarded it to court for damaging my reputation and credibility,” he added.

This is not the first time that AI-generated celebrity content has been published on the internet. Earlier morphed videos and pictures of actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar were also released on the internet.
