Since Sunday, multiple users on multiple social media platforms have shared a video showing a woman opening fire after a man on a motorcycle allegedly tried to approach her. However, the video is generated by AI.
How it all started
On Sunday, social media users share X’s video shows a man on a motorcycle approaching a woman walking on the street. The man made a 180-degree turn and approached the man, before the burqa-clad woman pulled out a gun and fired at him, who then fled the scene.
This post has received 333,000 views.

methodology
Due to the virality of this video and the level of public interest, a fact check was launched to determine the veracity of this claim.
A frame-by-frame analysis of the video to identify visual discrepancies revealed that while the man appeared to be stopping his bike in an unusually smooth, stunt-like 180-degree drift, there were no signs of a skid on the road.
Then, at the one-second mark, a gun suddenly appears in the woman’s hand, as if morphed into a video.
At the 4 second mark, the dust cloud that forms after the woman fires onto the road appears unusually large and thick, even though the road is made of asphalt. On asphalt roads, a simple gunshot usually does not create such heavy dust.
Similarly, when a man flees on a motorcycle, his rear wheels appear to be producing a similar amount of dust on a clean asphalt road.
The videos were further analyzed using AI detection tools, with Hive moderation labeling 94.2% of the videos as AI-generated, and deepfake detection labeling 97% as AI-generated.
