Italy has taken a cautious and largely non-military stance in the ongoing Middle East conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Prime Minister Meloni made it clear from the start that Italy would not take part in the war, maintaining its position as a Western ally aligned with NATO and the European Union, and even began withdrawing personnel from the region. Instead, Rome focused on diplomacy, warning that the conflict risked undermining international law and regional stability.

Italy, traditionally a close ally of Israel, recently stopped renewing the defense pact, reflecting growing concerns about escalation. At the same time, Italy has supported efforts to secure global energy routes and protect maritime trade amidst the turmoil of conflict.

How it all started

The post’s caption read, “Brave woman.” It received 553,700 views.

Another user on X shared the same video In a similar context, the caption reads, “It’s a very sensitive situation.”

methodology

Due to the high profile and public interest in this case, fact-checking has been initiated to determine the veracity of this claim.

A visual analysis of the video revealed several inconsistencies, including gibberish Arabic writing on the right side of the Palestinian headscarf Meloni wore.

Similarly, although the inscriptions on the left side of the flag appear to constitute words/sentences, they are just symbols or rough lines, a typical feature of AI-generated content.

Forensic analysis of the viral video was performed using AI detection tools, and the results suggested digital manipulation. Deepware, an AI deepfake detection tool, labeled the video suspicious.

Hive moderation marked 45.9 percent as AI-generated.

Another tool, Truth Scan, identified 48pc as being generated by AI.

Similarly, Sora Detect flagged the video as 40pc AI-generated content.

A keyword search was conducted to see if such videos or incidents were reported by reliable mainstream, international, or Italian media, but no results were obtained.

Furthermore, UNGA’s most recent meeting was held in September 2025 and was attended by both Meloni and Netanyahu. However, there are no reports of such incidents occurring.
