Some social media users suspected that the video was made with AI. But Dhruv Rathee has been practicing it for several years.
This is not the first time Dhruv Rathee has shared a video while on wakeboarding. In August 2024, Dhruv Rathee posted about Wake Surfing's progress. He pointed out that it had been two years since he started practicing.
“…you can ultimately do that without a rope,” he wrote, sharing the video.
Previously, in September 2023, content creators shared a video of themselves trying to wake up while holding the rope. The video even shows him falling into the water while he tries to wake up the water.
The video was from Qatar, the “World's Safeest Country,” Rashi said. Qatar ranked third in the 2025 Middle-aged Numbereo Safety Index, earning 84.6 out of 148 countries. In 2024, it was the second safest country in the world just after the United Arab Emirates.
