Use Galaxy AI without sending data to Samsung: This is what you've lost

Applications of AI

The Galaxy Ai has become one of Samsung's new buzzwords, whether they love it or hate it, or at worst, a new selling point at best. The Galaxy AI is everywhere. Samsung fans can't escape it. However, if you are concerned about privacy, you have the option to limit the processing of your Galaxy AI and perform AI functions on your device without sending data to Samsung's servers. Of course, there's a catch.

Limiting Galaxy AI to devices is as easy as opening setting > Galaxy AI > Process data only on devices. However, relying solely on devices costs more than just the cost of advanced Galaxy AI features running in the cloud. Below is a complete breakdown of Galaxy AI components that can only use Devices, as well as what you're missing if you decide to get an additional privacy route:

These lists relate to the Galaxy AI features available in one UI 7. However, new firmware updates that include one UI 8.5 can add Galaxy AI features.

Overall, Samsung offers a substantial range of Galaxy AI features for both productivity and personalization, so even if you don't want to send data to the cloud, you can get more than a sense of AI capabilities.

It remains to be seen whether this will change in the future. Fans are worried that Samsung may ultimately push the features of the Galaxy AI behind the paywall, but the company confirmed earlier this year that all Galaxy AI features that ship to your phone by default remain free forever. However, it has not yet been decided whether all of these AI features will undergo a slow migration to the cloud.
