US President Donald Trump shares AI video of Barack Obama's arrest

AI Video & Visuals

US President Donald Trump escalated his attack on Barack Obama on Monday (July 21) by posting an AI-generated video drawn by a former president arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in his oval office.

The latest move comes days after the Trump administration accused Obama of engaging in “high-level election fraud” in the 2016 presidential election.

AI arrest video

A video that Trump shares on the true social platform says from a clip of Obama that “the president, especially the law, is beyond the law.” A montage of various Democratic leaders, including former US President Joe Biden, later claimed that “no one has surpassed the law.”

The clip moves into an AI-generated scene showing Obama being handcuffed by two FBI agents in an oval office.

Trump appears to sit and smile as the fictional “arrest” unfolds. The fake video ends with Obama standing inside the prison wearing an orange jumpsuit.

In particular, Trump did not include a disclaimer indicating that the video was fictional. This omission has sparked criticism from many viewers, with some calling the act “deeply irresponsible.”

Gabbard's accusation

The development follows comments by US director Tulsi Gabbard, National Intelligence Director, who publicly condemned Obama and some of his top executives for trying to undermine Trump's victory in the 2016 election.

Gabbard accused Obama and senior US officials of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential election victory was a “unpleasant plot” aimed at showing that Russia's interference was due to Russian interference.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Gabbard argued that Obama's senior national security team intentionally “manufactured” and “manufactured” a politicized information assessment to show that Trump's victory was due to Russian interference.

She argued that these actions were part of a coordinated attempt to trust President Trump and “overturn the will of the American people.”

Gabbard also calls for Obama and former senior national security officials to be prosecuted. It is a demand echoed by Trump.
