According to new data from global job search platform Adzuna, the US is leading the way in artificial intelligence jobs, with many paying well into the six-figure salary range.

The most common jobs include technical roles such as software engineer, product designer, deep learning architect, and data scientist. According to Adzuna data, the average salary for a tax administrator using AI is $100,445 annually. Overall, the average pay for a job using this skill is $146,244.
AI jobs have been around for decades, but have exploded in recent months with the arrival of ChatGPT in late 2022. Since then, companies wishing to stay on top of emerging technologies have been scrambling to hire people with the skills to build and implement them. Improve workflows, like building chatbots to improve customer service or processing large amounts of data to make business decisions.
A recent survey of LinkedIn’s top companies found that nearly 70% said AI is already making their businesses faster and smarter, and 32% see greater benefits from using AI in the next few years. Those interested in building generative AI skills can explore certification and training courses online from the University of Michigan, Coursera, and other e-learning platforms.
In an unpredictable market that has seen layoffs at big tech companies in recent months, it could be a trustworthy skill, Neave said. People looking for high-paying jobs should focus on AI, especially in the second half of the year, he said.
And the US appears to be leading the way in building the AI talent pool. The US posted about 173,000 AI job vacancies in June, while India posted her 25,900 jobs and the UK posted her 16,825 jobs in the same period.
