Social media users are burning President Donald Trump after posting a fake video depicting former president Barack Obama, who was arrested.
On his true social platform, Trump posted a video from his Pro Magatiktoc account on Sunday. This compiles footage of his political opponents, repeating the phrase “No one is beyond the law.” The montage is set to the iconic song from the television show “Curb Your Everism.” The video is set before it is cut into an image of Pepe the Frog, a cartoon internet mascot dressed to a snorting clown.
Next, we show an edited video showing Obama being handcuffed by two men wearing FBI gear. Finally, Obama appears in the orange jumpsuit behind the bar, as Trump's signature campaign song “YMCA” plays in the background.
The post comes after National Intelligence Director Tarshi Gabbard on Friday declassified a series of reports and claimed “overwhelming evidence” against the 2016 elections that Russia supported Trump eight years ago.
Gabbard argued that the document showed a “rebellious conspiracy” by the head of the Obama administration to harm Trump. She threatened to introduce them to the Department of Justice to prosecute them. Democrats dismissed her claims as baseless.
Social media users quickly slammed Trump for a post over the former president's fake arrest.
Former GOP Rep. Joe Walsh became a newly minted Democrat and said on Monday, “We have elected a totally scary person. We have elected our worst.”
“We chose a child. No, I'll take it back. The vast majority of children in this country are far better than him, far more decent, much more mature,” he continued.
One user stated: “The US President is a totally and desperately confused psychopath. Still, he can do or say something even more crazy, so this will be forgotten in a few hours.”
“This guy is the president of the United States and posts garbage like this. Aside from being another example of his ineligibleness for that office, this leak of despair. He's so scary to death.
One user joked, “Someone needs to put parental control on Trump's social media accounts… Seriously.”
“Trump's obsession with Obama is at least a bit unsettling to watch, probably because Obama was actually a successful, popular and well-received president,” another user said.
Meanwhile, some parts of the Maga world had a totally opposite reaction.
“Make this a reality,” right-wing journalist Nick Thorto wrote in X, tagged Attorney General Pam Bondy.
Another user said, “The Trump Media Team is the best ever.”
Trump on Sunday also shared an AI-generated image of fake mug shots of Obama and his administration officials in the term “suspicious bunch.”
He also posted a screenshot of X user in response to Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) on Fox News who said “criminal prosecution and arrest are necessary.” Users attached images of a man wearing handcuffs outside the Capitol. The caption said, “Until this happens… nothing will change.”
