President Donald Trump reposted an AI-generated video about true social, depicting the fake arrest and incarceration of former President Barack Obama on Sunday, July 20th. Originally created by Tiktok's Maga supporters, the video is part of a surge in weekend posts by Trump, following the claims of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard argued that the Obama administration is part of a “rebellious plot” to undermine Trump's 2016 election victory.
What does the video show?
The video says in clips of Obama and other Democrats that “no one is beyond the law.” It is then cut into an animated Pepe The Frog – an internet meme wrapped in segments of the Maga Movement – wearing clown make-up and sniffing a red snorting.

From there, the video will switch to AI-generated scenes. Obama is “arrested” by FBI agents in the oval office, as Trump laughs nearby and “YMCA” plays in the background. The images have been digitally changed from the actual footage of Obama's encounter with Trump in November 2016. In the final shot, Obama appears in a prison cell wearing an orange jumpsuit.
The video follows Gabbard's announcement on Friday, July 18th, and introduces former Obama administration officials to the Justice Department for prosecution. She claims she prepared an information report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Gabbard's claim
“When Russia produced this manufactured information claiming that he helped Donald Trump was elected, it contradicted all other ratings that took place in the months leading up to the election that Russia had no intention or ability to hack the US election,” Gabbard told Fox News on Sunday.
Trump has posted dozens of times about Gabbard's allegations since her announcement.
Gabbard argued that the newly declassified documents would reveal the way intelligence was politicized to lay the foundation for a long-standing coup against President Trump.
“The meaning of this is frankly not historical,” Gabbard said on an episode of Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures.
“Over 100 documents released Friday provide evidence of how this unpleasant plot was directed by President Obama just weeks before President Trump was scheduled to retire after he was already elected,” Gabbard said.
Democrats and Republicans respond
Democrats quickly dismissed the allegations as unfounded. D-Va, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Senator Mark Warner called it “another example of the national intelligence director trying to cook a book.”
Some Trump supporters have embraced AI videos, but while conservative journalist Nick wrote in X, “Make this a reality,” Pam Bondy's Attorney General was even more skeptical.
Some on the right saw it as a distraction from growing criticism of Trump's handling of the Epstein incident and recent demands for transparency in the newly released documents.
