
Kokrajhar: In line with the initiative to revamp the administrative work of the BTC Secretariat and make it compatible with modern technology, the BTC Human Resources Department on Thursday organised a training session for all Grade III employees of the BTC Secretariat on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in their daily administrative work.The inauguration of the training session was attended by all senior and junior administrative assistants and several staff members of the Secretariat.
Speaking on his official page, BTC CEM Pramod Boro said the adoption of new age technologies like application of AI holds great potential to enhance workflow, improve efficiency and optimise services, thereby ensuring seamless governance for the people of BTR.
It may be mentioned that in a pioneering move, the Bodoland Tract Congress (BTC) took a significant step towards embracing technological advancements in journalism by providing training on applications of AI at the BTC Secretariat's conference room and organising the first ever government-sponsored workshop on applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for media practitioners in Kokrajhar on May 15. The Information and Public Relations wing of the BTC organised a training session on applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for journalists from Kokrajhar district at the BTC Secretariat conference room on May 15 to improve their skills in news writing and data collection. This was the first time that BTC has provided training on applications of AI to working journalists and it was attended by over 25 journalists from both print and electronic media.
The workshop on AI was conducted by Dipankar Mandal, Senior Research Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology, Gorakhpur. Working journalists from Kokrajhar were guided in selecting news headlines, preparing queries, data collection, text correction, language conversion and accurate writing through the application of AI GPT Chat. They were also guided in uploading PDF news format and converting the text into English or Hindi text and audio version using typeset.io.
