Advances in technology and job creation are closely interrelated. With every significant technological advancement, immediate concerns can affect employment opportunities. Some jobs may disappear, but new jobs will appear and often differ from those that you will replace.

This change is a natural result due to the relationship between standard of living and unemployment.

In particular, there is growing debate about the potential decline in employment opportunities due to rapid technological advancements. This drives an unprecedented shift towards more automation. Some perspectives tend to exaggerate and incite concern, while others take a more objective approach and provide scientific analysis based on data and human experience.

This is not the first time such a transition has occurred between two advances. Despite the scale and impact of current changes, history witnesses similar changes, often accompanied by the same fears. When the wheel was first invented, the innovations that are now considered fundamental parts of human history and are seen as from the past made people uneasy and fearless of unemployment.

However, the outcome was completely the opposite. Despite its simplicity of the invention, it revolutionized the means of transportation. The same pattern was repeated two centuries ago during the Industrial Revolution. An extreme shift has driven humanity into a new era, raising concerns once again, and ultimately unfounded.

Today's world is experiencing similar sentiments, with extensive discussions on the impact of cutting-edge technology on employment opportunities. There is no doubt that there is a major shift in the relationship between humans and machines, but it is essential to approach this issue practically away from exaggeration.

Some jobs will inevitably disappear, but new jobs will appear, making them more specialized and beneficial. However, these require different skills and educational levels than before.

In this context, the Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) predicted that by 2030, between 70 and 80 million jobs would be created with technology and AI, and millions of other jobs would disappear.

This highlights qualitative changes in the nature of employment. In particular, the ILO said that despite rapid technology growth over the past 50 years, global unemployment rates have risen to 5%.

A drastic update to the curriculum?

The impact of these changes will vary from country to country. Countries that implement qualitative improvements in education are better at maintaining employment opportunities and creating employment opportunities, while other countries face exclusion and rising unemployment rates.

Germany has welcomed over a million immigrants, primarily Syrians, in recent years, to meet the demands of the labor market. Similarly, UK statistics show that the UK population is projected to increase from the current 68 million to 74 million by 2036, not as a result of the continued demand for immigration and skilled labor from abroad, rather than a declining birth rate.

Such important changes require more than anything else to fundamentally change in the quality of education, ensuring that they are in line with technological advances. The present era requires a wide range of fields and high skills, and fortunately countries have equal opportunities to achieve this progress.

Success depends on the educational policy adopted and the ability to meet the evolving demands of AI. This approach not only dispels the fear of unemployment, but also drives the labour market to a new stage. There will be a new stage in which workers will improve their high pay and standard of living.

Conversely, unemployment concerns are justified if the important link between technological advancement and quality of education is ignored.
