AI is the new cryptocurrency. After seeing the writing on the wall, my fellow startups all turned to pushing an AI product that was too good, instead of pushing a financial product that was too good.
But it’s actually worse. Because ChatGPT is free, at least for now. But are almost all of those new AI writing tools ‘better’ than ChatGPT? It costs between $9.99 and $49.99 per month (only $8.99 per month when billed annually! ).
After examining four popular AI writing tools, we found that they were all actually inferior to ChatGPT. Below is a list of overrated and expensive AI lighting tools that we recommend avoiding.
1. Jenny Eye
Jenni AI, which I have fully reviewed, is an AI writing tool that promises to greatly enhance content creation with high-quality content. Marketing materials claim that you can write emails, articles, essays, and more. He gets 200 free AI-generated words per day. After that, if billed monthly, it’s $20/month.
Usage
Give Jenni AI a short synopsis like “I’m writing an article about the best cat food” and Jenni AI will draft a short paragraph. From there it works like Google Autocomplete with turbo functionality. Jenni AI can suggest autocomplete options as you start writing. You can accept suggestions or even view variations.
why not
Jenni AI created poor quality writing.
On the second line you can see that Jenni made a typo.

I tested the exact same prompt on ChatGPT and got a better title, more detailed description, and no hoax research.

So you got the same output in slightly higher quality for free.
2. Quillbot AI
Quillbot AI is a paraphrasing tool for writing content and I have reviewed it completely. We promise to improve your writing skills. It’s marketed to students and professionals and helps them make sure their words are in the right tone. It offers 7 rewriting modes. You can choose to let Quillbot help you summarize, or you can choose to be more fluent, more formal, simpler, more creative, longer or shorter.
We use a freemium model. You can have free access to two rewrite modes, Standard and Fluency, or pay to access five additional modes. If billed monthly, the cost is $19.95.

Usage
The freemium model allows you to paste up to 125 words into the paraphrase tool at a time. Grammar tools (same as Grammarly) and summarization tools are also available for free. Collaborative writing tools and plagiarism checkers were protected by a paywall.

When I used Quillbot’s tool, I found that the definition of “paraphrase” seemed to mean simply spinning the roulette wheel with synonyms and choosing one at random.
An example is shown below.
Whatever that means, it turns out that “napping peacefully” becomes “sleeping peacefully.” Also, you changed “colleague” to “employee”, which is completely wrong.
I felt that the quality of the translation was low. I suspect Quillbot AI is mostly used as a plagiarism tool by his morally bankrupt SEO bloggers who borrow and paraphrase content from competitors, and by impatient students.
Why I recommend ChatGPT instead.
In other words, if I were a morally bankrupt SEO blogger, I wouldn’t want to pay $19.95/month for ChatGPT to do the same.

3. Copy the .ai
Copy.ai is for marketers, plain and simple. It’s streamlined to help you create blog posts, social media posts, and emails. There is a free trial of 2,000 free words per month. The next plan is $49/month.

It’s a very simple workflow. I tested the blog example. Specify a title, some keywords, and the tone you’re aiming for. Next, an editable synopsis and some talking points before writing the article.

It was one of the best AI tools I tested. The article was great, not too repetitive and had a real tone instead of sounding like a salad of words like many AI text generators.

It wasn’t perfect. For example, you created a prompt with the title “His 7 Cat Foods that are Best for Picky Cats”, but the first synopsis generated says he has 5 cat foods and he has only 2 issues. bottom. I’m not the type

Additionally, when I went back to try and fix my point, I was unable to regenerate the article because I had exhausted all my words on the free plan.
Why you should use ChatGPT instead
Giving the same prompt to ChatGPT actually generated 7 different foods. The tone was charming, as specified. I could have done better myself, but it was free compared to Copy.ai’s $49/month.

Last but not least, I checked out Rytr, which touts itself as an all-purpose AI. We are committed to writing emails, blog posts, social media posts, landing page copy, product descriptions, story plots, and more. It has a forever free plan and generates 10,000 characters, or about 1,800 words. The unlimited plan costs $29/month.
Usage
I’ve found Rytr to be very intuitive to use. You can choose a predefined use case, such as a blog outline, or use the “magic command” option to specify what you want to do.

The generated text was uninspiring and bland. Sometimes it didn’t make sense. For example, within the “kibble” section of the article, Rytr generated text talking about canned food.

The format still has a lot of room for improvement. It didn’t create the auto-formatted list as expected because it left spaces in the wrong place. Plus, we invented things. I wasn’t expecting AI hallucinations on a bland subject like cat food, but Rytr surprised me with hallucinations of a non-existent brand of cat treats called “EkoRazors.”

ChatGPT is easy to use, produces higher quality work, and is free. Giving ChatGPT the same prompt as Rytr produced a basic list of cat food types. The format is perfect, I didn’t invent some random cat treat brand.

What is the main point? From generating titles, synopses, and full content blog posts, ChatGPT was as good or better than any AI tool I tested. And for now, it’s free.
The main advantage of AI tools is that they are designed for a specific purpose. But you can do exactly the same thing with ChatGPT with the right prompts.
Whether you’re a marketer or a freelance writer like me, take some time to learn about good ChatGPT prompts before paying $9-$49 a month for crappy AI tools. I encourage you to study.
