Despite his creative flourishes, Norwood’s presence has drawn sharp criticism.
The SAG AFTRA union slammed her creation, claiming that AI characters “use stolen performances to put actors out of work, endanger their livelihoods, and degrade human artistry.”
Her creator, Particle6 founder Elaine van der Velden, defended Norwood as a “creative work” and “a work of art.”
“I don’t see AI as a replacement for humans, but as a new paintbrush,” she explained.
Norwood teased on March 15 that she will be attending the 2026 Academy Awards, joking in the video description, “I can’t wait to go to the Oscars! Does anyone know if there’s free valet parking for my flamingo?”
