The CMF Phone 1 has a see-through camera, and the company is working on a fix
Nothing's CMF confirmed that the 2MP depth sensor on the company's first smartphone, the Phone 1, “can sometimes reveal the inner structure of thin or translucent objects, especially in the case of black acrylic materials.” Simply put, the camera can take see-through images. The same was previously reported by OnePlus 8 Pro users, and the company fixed it with a software update. The company commented that this is due to the lack of an infrared filter on the sensor, which can only be accessed by some third-party camera apps. The company's co-founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed that they plan to limit this with a similar software update.

Samsung unveils its first smart ring, teases XR headset
Samsung unveiled its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, at the second Galaxy Unpacked 2024 in Paris. It will cost $399 and will not require a subscription. It will have features such as heart rate, SpO2, and real-time temperature monitoring. The company has also confirmed that it is developing an XR headset in collaboration with Qualcomm and Google, which is expected to be launched in early 2025.

The Nord 4 will receive four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates
OnePlus has officially announced that its upcoming Nord 4 will be covered by four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, making it the brand's longest-supported smartphone to date. The phone will launch with Android 14 and will receive updates up to Android 18, as well as security updates until 2030. In comparison, Samsung and Google offer seven years of OS updates on some of their phones.
