History commissioned by President Donald Trump's White House relies on AI-generated videos of the founders of revolutionary eras and other historical figures. The Road to Liberty exhibition at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, DC features numerous AI videos that bring “the creation of America through film storytelling.” It's a little strange and sometimes inaccurate.
Gizmodo takes a detailed look at the exhibition, noting that the “Founders Museum” created by Progeru shows “a rather distorted view of America's founding.” (Prageru is a conservative nonprofit that produces educational content, but was attacked by liberals for presenting right-wing content as purely educational.) For example, say, “The facts don't care about our feelings.” Obviously, John Adams doesn't actually formulate that phrase, and it seems like a deliberate troll on Pragel's side.
The Load to Liberty website allows visitors to see 62 AI-generated videos featuring historical figures.

The White House told NPR that the goal is to use AI to “make these people, places and events come to life and attract history to Americans across the country.” However, an expert who spoke to NPR said he was worried about the depiction of the founder's father.
“The project that will focus on founders and signatories of the Declaration of Independence is something many historians praise and endorse,” William G. Thomas, vice president of the American Historical Society's research department, told NPR, “In this case, I think there are some concerns about how that's going on.”
Without anything else, the AI founder looks a bit strange – at least for this reporter. And, as Gizmodo pointed out, John Adams' videos feature a strange AI habit of creating extra fingers and missing people. This is something you'd expect from an AI slop posted online, but it's probably not a White House sponsored exhibit.
