The curriculum will be introduced in kindergarten through the 2025-2026 academic year, in collaboration with Middle East AI company G42, Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Emirates University of Higher Education. “This important national initiative supports the UAE's efforts to become a global leader in AI and digital transformation,” WAM said.
The AI curriculum spans seven key areas: basic concepts, data and algorithms, software applications, ethics, real-world applications, innovation and project design, policy and community engagement. The goal is to provide students with knowledge and skills appropriate for each grade level starting at kindergarten, allowing public school graduates to become familiar with the fundamentals of AI and apply it to their daily lives.

The curriculum is divided into almost four stages. In kindergarten, children participate in “visual and interactive activities” and learn about AI and digital technologies through stories and play. The next stage, Cycle 1, develops digital thinking skills by comparing machines and humans, while Cycle 2 focuses on the design and evaluation of AI systems, biases and algorithms, and ethical use. Cycle 3 teaches command engineering and simulates real applications.
These courses do not require additional classroom time and are seamlessly integrated into the existing school curriculum under designated teacher guidance as part of the subjects of computing, creative design and innovation.

“Implementing AI in all public schools is a strategic step to modernizing educational tools, enhancing the younger generation who can understand technical ethics and develop wise and local solutions to future challenges,” said Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri.
He added: “Integrating AI into education reflects the UAE government's vision for the future, strengthens global leadership in innovation and technology-driven education, and supports the goal of building a competitive digital economy driven by knowledge-based society and skilled citizen talent.”
Sheikha Mariam Bint Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chair of the Council on Education, Human and Community Development, said, “Integrating AI into the school curriculum at all levels is a strategic investment not only in educational reform but in young minds, a strategic investment to ensure that future succession and succession is passed on.”
A Bloomberg Economic Media outlet said: “Nvidia claimed it was considering relaxation restrictions on UAE's semiconductor sales.
