Ohio man was scamled from cash after falling into fake AI video that appeared to show a jelly roll saying he won the car
Ronnie Flint says he received a message on Facebook from an account that claims to be a singer.
The account told him he had won $50,000 and a new car, and that he used fake AI video that appears to show the jelly roll talking about the award.
However, Flint's joy quickly turned to disappointment after realizing he was being scammed.

The con man used fake AI video of jelly roll
AI has come a long way in a relatively short period of time, and is used in all sorts of ways, from rental companies checking damages from rental companies to replacing artificial intelligence life partners.
Unfortunately, this technology has also become a handy tool for scammers to get paid.
Ohio resident Ronnie Flint was initially suspicious when contacted by Blue on Facebook from an account that claimed to be a jelly roll.
Follow-up video of the message was followed by a video in which Flint said what looked like a jelly roll was asking him to cover the shipping costs for the award.
The account also sent him a photo showing that he said it was the singer's driver's license, but Flint was not yet convinced.
However, he was sent a second video.
“It got me when they sent me the second video where he actually said my full name,” Flint said. wdtn.
“I'm, wow, it's really a jelly roll. He said my name.”
Flint was then told to send money via an Apple gift card, but eventually parted ways for $70.
Luckily, at this point, the family warned Flint that everything sounded like a scam, and he stopped giving the money and filed a police report.
Despite trying to cut contact, Flint said the scammers are still trying to get in touch and ask for more money. Luckily, this time he knows better than responding.
Victims want to warn others
Flint said he contacted the media to spread the message and avoid other people falling into similar scams.
“Several organizations and police departments say that if it's not true when it's too good, it's often the less true, the better,” he said.
“You should always be vigilant if you ask them to pay with a gift card.”
