The latest update to the Gcore video streaming platform includes AI content moderation, new ingest points for live streams.

AI Video & Visuals

Gcore has announced its May 2024 update, bringing significant improvements to make users' streaming experience smoother, more efficient, and more tailored to their needs. Key enhancements include improved AI content moderation, new ingest points for live streams, customizable transcoding presets, an enhanced video entity page, AI-generated subtitles, a redesigned video player, and the latest API updates.

Improved AI content moderation

Enjoy a safer streaming experience with faster, more accurate content moderation. Gcore has fine-tuned its AI content moderation system for nudity detection, resulting in faster and more accurate video-on-demand (VOD) processing. A new 30% accuracy threshold allows the system to include objects with lower probability levels, improving the accuracy of content filtering. This update speeds up the moderation process, providing more reliable results and ensuring a safer viewing experience. Below is a real-life example:

New ingest points for live streams

This translates into lower latency, better compliance with local data regulations, and smoother live streaming. To improve users' live streaming experience, Gcore has added a new ingest point in Miami, increasing capacity and providing more options to users. Gcore also offers the ability to co-locate primary and backup ingest points for live streams, a valuable feature for businesses that must keep data within a specific region, such as the US or EU, to comply with legal or other regulations. At the same time, businesses that don't want to be limited to a single region for their ingest and backup points can now request to set different locations in their individual account settings.

Customizable transcoding presets

Users can tailor the streaming quality to their specific requirements and ensure the best viewing experience. Gcore has introduced the option to set transcoding presets via API for each live stream. While the standard presets are optimized for most scenarios, users have the flexibility to choose or customize presets according to their specific needs.

And much more: an enhanced video entity page, AI-generated subtitles, a redesigned video player, and the latest API updates.
