John Oliver is not a huge fan of AI Creations – at least not in a way that surpassed the funny horror, but on Sunday night's episode of “Last Tonight” he took a “little” revenge on the machine.
The HBO host centers around his main story about using AI programs and acknowledges that mastering them has proven economically advantageous for a small number of creators all Businesses encourage them. However, he also pointed out many flaws in AI. This also includes the fact that in many cases it simply steals the work of a real creator.
“And I'm not saying that some of these things aren't fun to watch. What I'm saying is that it can potentially be very dangerous. Even if it isn't, the technology that is possible to train the work of real artists will work,” he explained.
“So what you might get from a strange and funny AI slop is that you tend to be undercut when you know that someone's efforts to create it has been stolen.”
The host focused in particular on a wood carving named Michael Jones, one creator. Jones used chainsaws to create giant lifelike sculptures of various creatures, and claimed that the images of his work changed to the trend of Ai-generated images of people posing next to more sculptures, creating themselves.
So, when the show ended, Oliver not only gave Jones a chance to show off his abilities, but also gave the AI that the AI had made him the opportunity to do the same.

“I don't have a big fix to all of this, or actually all of it. What I have is a fitting way to respond,” Oliver said. “Perhaps one small way to get back to all the AI slops that tear artists apart is to rip AI slops to create real art. So come along with me.”
At that time, he stood from his desk and took the camera to an actual wood carving of the images generated by Ai. In this case, a strange buffman made of cabbage, that AI version simply tickled Oliver – and Jones stands next to it.
“Look at the details there! This is an absolute masterpiece!” Oliver squealed. “And do you want to see this and thank the real artist who made it?
“What a fun way to celebrate the destruction of our shared objective reality!” Oliver added as the show concluded. “We're f ked!”
