New machine learning integrations are available from Teradata and Google Cloud. Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Platform is now generally available for Teradata VantageCloud and ClearScape analytics.

“By adding Vertex AI to Teradata VantageCloud and ClearScape Analytics, organizations can seamlessly move from AI experimenters to AI achievers,” Teradata said in a release.

Vertex AI is Google Cloud’s end-to-end machine learning platform, introduced in 2021. According to Teradata, Vertex AI helps users utilize a variety of cutting-edge algorithms to build high-quality AI models in a short time with minimal expertise. Teradata’s VantageCloud, the cloud version of the company’s long-running data warehouse, includes Enterprise, optimized for high-end production analytical workloads, and Lake, optimized for data science and exploratory analytics. There are two editions.

ClearScape Analytics is a suite of in-database analytics and machine learning tools that can run in any Teradata environment and is designed to be used in conjunction with data science notebooks. ClearScape has MLOps capabilities to help data scientists automate the ML lifecycle. This includes capturing, training, deploying and monitoring ML models in production.

According to Teradata, the combination of these elements results in faster, more sophisticated AI models that can scale across your organization. Customers using VantageCloud on Google Cloud can streamline data preparation by consolidating heterogeneous datasets from multiple environments, data lakes, and object stores. ClearScape Analytics can also transform data into reusable analytical datasets. You can use these datasets to build and train ML models on Vertex AI. Teradata says Vertex AI models can be operated at scale on his VantageCloud, giving customers direct, transparent and real-time access to all models.

Teradata Chief Product Officer Hillary Ashton said in the release: “Our openness and scalability facilitate operationalization of Vertex AI models across organizations and mission-critical use cases such as customer churn, fraud detection, predictive maintenance, and supply chain optimization. enables us to make bold, data-driven business decisions that keep us ahead of our competitors.”

“Vertex AI enables data scientists to build, deploy and scale machine learning models faster, with fully managed tools and services for use cases across industries. Combined with a massive and trusted analytics data set, customers can scale their AI/ML initiatives quickly and confidently for faster time to value.” Google Cloud release.

Teradata appears to be focused on enhancing its customers’ machine learning capabilities. The company also recently announced the general availability of VantageCloud and ClearScape, as well as integration with the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning platform.

Teradata shares rose 6% on Monday after Guggenheim Partners’ Wall Street analyst Howard Ma upgraded the company’s rating. Ma suggests that Teradata may be experiencing a positive turning point when it comes to customer retention. Despite reports that Teradata is losing customers to other cloud competitors, Ma indicated from recent conversations with his Teradata partner that there is growing demand to stay with the company. claim that there is a possibility that

“What many thought was impossible may be starting to happen,” Ma told an investment news outlet. looking for alpha“Complex workloads tied to core business logic are likely to stay on Teradata in the short and medium term, so the decay rate is [the company’s] The install base may slow down in the future. ”
